Iran keen to work with Bashundhara Group

Visiting Iranian business delegates expressed their eagerness to work together with Bashundhara Group, the country’s leading business conglomerate, in the thriving energy sector.
They assured Bashundhara Group of helping construct an oil refinery in Bangladesh.
The local business goliath also discussed its blueprint to import liquefied petroleum (LP) gas and crude oil from Iran.
The Iranian delegation held a meeting with Bashundhara Group officials in the chairman’s residence on Wednesday evening.
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir and Additional Managing Director Safwan Sobhan Tasvir, among others, were present at the meeting.
On the other hand, Iranian Ambassador (extraordinary and plenipotentiary) in Dhaka Dr Abbas Vaezi, Commerce Minister’s Adviser and Trade Promotion Organisation’s Vice-president Md Reza Maudoodi represented the delegation.
The meeting discussed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Bashundhara Group and Trade Promotion Organisation of Iran.
A 12-member Iranian delegation came to Dhaka on Thursday to explore market potentialities in Bangladesh.
They will continue to interact with the individuals concerned with various sectors here till Saturday.
Earlier, a delegation of FBCCI, the apex body of business leaders, visited Iran. In response, the Iranian delegation has come to Dhaka.
Iran has now emerged as a pivot for business following recent withdrawal of US economic sanctions from it.
Iranian businessmen are trying to invest in other global destinations.
The Middle-Eastern nuclear-rich nation is very keen to boost bilateral ties with brotherly Muslim state Bangladesh.
