An orientation programme for the newly-admitted students of Bashundhara Technical Institute (BTI) was held on its temporary campus on Jubo Tarango Road in Tongi recently.
The entire programme was presided over by newly-appointed Principal Mozahed Ali under whose able guidance various government technical institutions earned reputation. The General Manager (GM) of Bashundhara Foundation, A K M Nawsherul Alam, graced the occasion as a special guest.
The orientation programme began with recitation of Holy Quran. Later, the students enthralled the audience, consisting of teachers and students, by their attractive performance.
In his presidential speech, Principal Mozahed Ali underscored the importance of technical education. This is technical education through which the vast population of Bangladesh can be turned into skilled manpower and human resources, he said adding that technical education can also play a vital role in earning valuable forex for the country.

highlighted various aspects of Bashundhara Technical Institute. Equipped with a modern laboratory, the institute is being run by a group of capable and brilliant teachers. They are relentlessly striving hard to turn the students into skilled engineers by imparting theoretical as well as practical education, he said. Moreover, Bashundhara Group extends a rare opportunity of practical training facilities at its renowned institutions and various industrial organizations to the BTI students, the Bashundhara Foundation GM observed. The cost of education is comparatively cheaper at BTI than other non-government technical institutes of the country, he asserted. Scholarships are also awarded to the meritorious students of BTI, he added.
At present, admission process is progressing at BTI at limited seats. BTI offers a four-year diploma-in-engineering course in civil, mechanical, electrical, refrigeration and air-conditioning to students.

There are subject-wise spacious laboratories so that the students can make them skilled engineers by getting practical training along with theory class, he mentioned.
A K M Nawsherul Alam said a good number of skilled and talented teachers are engaged in teaching and providing training to the students of the student.
Moreover, facilities are available for the students of this institute to train practically in different organizations of Bashundhara Group and many other renowned institutions of the country, he stated adding that students can avail the opportunity of classes supported by modern technology as the system is available in the institute. The overall learning expenditure of the institute is comparatively less than other private institutes of the country.
In addition, there is scope of getting interest free loans so that students can provide training fees. And meritorious students can get scholarship from the institute, he informed.
